Richard has been a ward councillor for Cheylesmore since winning a by-election in May 2014. He has been a member of Planning Committee since February 2015 and was appointed Chair of Planning in May 2016. He also sits on the Audit and Procurement Committee, the Cabinet Advisory Panel and Scrutiny Board 3 (Business and Enterprise). Richard is also the designated “Digital Champion” to help drive through a Digital Strategy for the City.
Richard has lived in Coventry since 1973, has 3 children and a grandson, all living in Coventry. He has entered local politics after a 30 year career in the private automotive sector. He also serves on the governing body of Howes School in Cheylesmore.
