Make a place for scattering of ashes in flowing water

We the undersigned petition the Council to support creating a suitable, accessible, and respectful location within the city to scatter ashes in flowing water, specifically designed to meet the spiritual and cultural needs of Sikh and Hindu communities. Scattering ashes in flowing water is a long-held and deeply significant practice in Sikhism and Hinduism. However, Coventry currently lacks an appropriate and designated site where families can carry out this practice with dignity and in accordance with their beliefs. We also want the site to be designed to respect both environmental considerations and religious practices. We request a suitable place for this to be at the Charterhouse on the banks of the River Sherbourne.

This addresses requests from the local community.
