We the undersigned petition the Council to create a children’s playground including a Scooter/Skate Board/BMX park within the existing Blackwatch recreation ground. The area has been without any provision for children’s play equipment for approx 20-25 years, when old equipment was removed.
With Coventry being the city of culture this year and to benefit the mental health and well being of young people in the area after the pandemic, I think it would be fantastic for an investment in this location to allow different groups of local residents and visitors to come together with shared interests.
There are at least 1000 people who live within 0.5 miles of this
location and out of these approx 300 children who would benefit
from this.
The nearest children's play equipment is more than 0.5 miles
away, and is a long way for children and parents to travel without
their own transport.
