We the undersigned petition the Council to reject the application PL/2024/0002368/FUL due to the following grave concerns:
1. Receiving such information just before Christmas is disgraceful to current residents of Romsley Road CV63LG. Coventry City Council should not have accepted the application at this time of year. We have 21 days to oppose and express our opinion but during this time of year most people are on holiday or away. It should be 21 working days not 21 days. Residents could not focus on Advent activities and getting ready for the Birth of Jesus - instead we worried about deadlines.
2. Potential increase in anti-social behaviour - such as excessive noise levels and disturbances from a 24 hour operation (changes of staff, visitors), petty crime and drugs or alcohol use, crimes, vandalism and damage of current residents' properties.
3. Safety concerns for all residents and impact on young children living in Daimler Green (especially Romsley Road).
4. This is a terraced house property with noise from the residents of number 25 Romsley Road clearly audible in adjoining properties.
5.Noise, disturbance, overlooking and lack of privacy to close neighbours due to increase in number of young residents as opposed to a family
6. A Restrictive Covenant contained in the property deeds that states “no house should be used otherwise than a private dwelling house”. The proposed change of use breaches this restrictive covenant due to this being a private, for-profit enterprise.
7. The value of adjoining properties and properties nearby will drastically decrease due to the neighbouring children's home for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. No one will want to rent it either.
8. Concerns over further use - once a unit has been designated for C2 usage it can easily be transferred to another Use Class including residential care, Multi-occupancy home or nursing homes.
9. Parking issues - there is no space for three parking spaces, not to mention visitors.
Considering the above concerns, we request the council to reject
the above application and ensure no such applications are
entertained in future given the concerns above.
