Install Pedestrian crossing on Brownshill Green Road

We the undersigned petition the Council to install a pedestrian crossing on Brownshill Green Road between Coundon Green and Waste Lane. The fast moving traffic and lack of control measures make it difficult and extremely dangerous for school children to cross the road to Bablake Prep School, Keresley Grange Primary School, Cardinal Newman and other schools in the area. A pedestrian crossing safety measure would greatly help improve the safety of students, parents, guardians and other users.

There is considerable high speed traffic on Brownshill Green Road and it is used as a race track which is extremely dangerous for school children crossing the road to Bablake Prep School, Keresley Grange Primary School, Cardinal Newman and other schools in the area. Heavy weight lorries also travel on this road. It has been a problem for many years and now is only getting worse with the rapid increase in the local school population. A relatively low cost solution " A pedestrian crossing on Brownshill Green Road between Coundon Green and Waste Lane" would help slow down the fast moving traffic and greatly improve the safety of students, parents and guardians trying to cross the road safely with young children.
