Quinton Park crossing for Manor Park School

We the undersigned petition the Council to take immediate action to improve the safety and accessibility of Manor Park School for students, parents, and guardians by installing a crossing on Quinton Park. The lack of a crossing on Quinton Park poses a significant safety risk to children and adults who need to cross the road to access the school. The heavy traffic and lack of control measures make it difficult and dangerous to cross the road, especially during peak times such as morning and afternoon drop-off and pick-up. We request the council to install a pelican crossing on Quinton Park to provide a safe and designated area for pedestrians to cross the road. This type of crossing would provide a designated area for pedestrians to cross and increase visibility for drivers, making it easier for them to spot pedestrians and slow down accordingly. This would greatly improve the safety of children, parents, and guardians who need to cross the road to access the school.

In addition to improving safety, the installation of a crossing on Quinton Park would also promote parking at the Cheylesmore Social Club for school drop-off. This would help to reduce the congestion around the school and make the area safer for everyone. Parents and guardians would be more likely to park at the Cheylesmore Social Club if there was a safe and convenient route from the car park to the school, and a crossing would make the route safer and more attractive.
The installation of a crossing on Quinton Park is a necessary step in ensuring the safety of children, parents, and guardians, as well as reducing congestion around the school. We urge the council to take immediate action and install a crossing on Quinton Park to make the area safer for everyone.
