Off road parking for residents of London Road, Whitley
Lack of parking for London Road residents has escalated over the
years and has forced people to park on side roads causing
obstructions on pedestrian pavements and over residential drives.
There is also poor access to the rear of properties, the entries
that are accessible are virtually impossible to manoeuvre the
average vehicle down due to poor condition of the road surfaces and
lack of space. Furthermore, the local shops have now began issuing
fines to residents using their parking spaces.
The residents of London Road want off road pull-ins similar to
Daventry Road, Cheylesmore. This will improve residents access to
their own homes, reduce the amount of people parking on Burnham
Road and Tonbridge Road and will also give more access to our local
businesses.
With more and more vehicles per household due to the younger
generation staying at home for longer because of an increase in
property and rental prices there is a higher demand for
parking.
