There are residents who are against having parking permits for Eld Road as we have no issues.
Please see below, which have been addressed of why we don't need parking permits.
1 there are no parking issues for Eld Road during the day as a lot of cars parked on the road belong to the residents and with some parked there for short times whilst visiting shops and families.
2 we have St Elizabeth church which has been there for over 100 years - this will cause upset for when families are attending funerals, weddings and other functions which regularly occur.
3 we have not seen abandoned cars or vehicles left parked on the street. Or garages using spaces for there vans and trailers (cross road garages have facilities to park their vehicles inside there industrial estate).
4. Also, there are few elderly, vulnerable residents living on Eld Road and require carers to attend to them. If there is a permit for one hour stay it will incur a lot of stress, which might even restrict the residents with their care, also not forgetting extra expense if need extra car permit.
We as Eld Road residents would like the council to acknowledge our petition against Road permit as this is not required.
