Objection to development on Land at Wilsons Lane (A444)

We the undersigned petition the Council to register our objections to the development on A444 Land at Wilsons Lane CV6 6HN (OUT/2020/1505) and the ‘diversion’ of the B25 footpath. We do not believe that the submitted air quality and transport assessments are fit-for-purpose. Therefore, we also request that L&Q Estates resubmits them taking into account the information we believe is required. We believe that Coventry City Council should refuse access. We believe that 50,000 sqm of B8 (warehousing and distribution) and the building of a 24m high distribution unit, which will run as a 24hr site operating 365 days-a-year (including Sundays and bank holidays), is not appropriate within a residential setting and will have a detrimental impact on our health and quality of life. Residents within Woodshires Green will suffer from oppressive views, poor air quality and be constantly disturbed by light and noise pollution. Furthermore, it will cause traffic chaos along the B4113-B4119 Corridor, A444 and M6 J3.

We also do not believe that the submitted air quality and transport assessments are fit-for-purpose. Therefore, we also request that L&Q Estates (formerly Gallagher Estates) resubmits these assessments to include:
• The air quality monitoring sites along the B4113-B4119 Corridor (Bedworth Road-Longford Road- Foleshill Road)
• Impact of HGV movements and the ‘fuel area’ on the air quality of Old Farm Lane particularly for properties backing onto or facing the loading bay areas of Unit 1
• Up-to-date traffic modelling which includes recent developments in north Coventry, future sites identified within Coventry City Council’s Local Plan and the Keresley Link Road
