Change gates onto Coundon Wedge to allow disabled access

We the undersigned petition the Council to provide access for mobility device users to Coundon Wedge. It is currently impossible due to the use of kissing gates, in spite of many of the existing footpaths being suitable for them. Changing the gates on Northbrooke Road, around Wedge Woods (including the Wedge entrance in Coundon Club car park), on Shornecliffe Road, etc, plus on routes in the Wedge from these areas, would open up a large part of this beautiful natural area to people with mobility issues. Some shoring up of parts of the footpaths (especially around the gates being replaced) would also be needed, in order to make access further into the Wedge possible.

Green spaces are great areas to visit, beneficial for both mental and physical health. This proposal will maintain Coundon Wedge's rural character and keep Coundon Wedge a safe space for
existing wildlife, whilst allowing as many people as possible to enjoy it.
