Eld Road experiences ongoing and severe parking problems due to its close proximity to Foleshill Road. All-day parking by commuters, shoppers, visitors, and nearby workers regularly occupies available spaces throughout the day, leaving residents with limited or no access to parking on their own street.
This has led to increased congestion and obstruction, including vehicles parking on double yellow lines, causing difficulty for cars to pass, resulting in traffic becoming stuck. Residents frequently struggle to find parking after returning home from work, often waiting for a space or being forced to park several streets away.
The lack of available parking has also resulted in residents feeling compelled to reserve spaces by placing bins outside their homes, creating further disruption. Local garages leaving non-resident vehicles on the street following repairs further reduce parking availability for residents.
The ongoing situation is causing significant distress, contributing to increased litter and in some cases, residents choosing to move away due to the persistent parking issues.
This petition represents the collective voice of Eld Road residents in seeking a fair and lasting solution, urging the Council to protect our resident parking.
