New Pedestrian Crossing at Junction between Brownshill Green Road & Brandfield Road
This junction experiences a very high number of pedestrians,
especially school children (coming from Coundon and Radford areas)
travelling to Hollyfast Primary School and Coundon Court, but also
pedestrians visiting Copthone Park and Garden. This controlled
crossing will allow children and pedestrians to cross safely as
currently there is nothing available.
There is considerable traffic on this road. There is a 30mph speed
limit and NO cameras, hence it is not an uncommon to see some
drivers speeding and exceeding the speed limit. There are a
significant number of cars parked on both sides of Brownshill Green
Road, which blocks pedestrians views while trying to cross the
road. This is especially very dangerous for children and elderly
people. Please consider that there are many residents living in
this area and it would significantly enhance safety if there is an
appropriate crossing to support *walk to school* schemes.
