Demand Council Consultation for Parking in Coventry's Zone WG

We the undersigned petition the Council to set up a consultation for the residents of the WG parking zone to openly discuss the proposed changes and charges to the permit parking system.

As a resident of The Norton Hill Drive Estate in the suburb of Wyken, we are being forced to incurr unnecessary costs to park outside our very own properties.

This instigated my journey into learning more about parking scheme Zone WG, managed by Coventry city council’s parking services department. Accordingly, I realised this monetisation strategy of public street parking is affecting not only me, but countless other local residents. The pay-to-park policy clearly contradicts the very concept of residential zones being a place for homeowners to live comfortably in their community. Surely, no person should have to pay to park outside their own home.

It is time we reached a fair compromise regarding this challenge. This is why I petition the Coventry City Council and Parking Services for a consultation concerning parking scheme Zone WG. This consultation should aim to integrate resident views and preferences into the management strategy of the parking zones. We need a more inclusive model where the voice of every resident is heard, and their daily convenience is a priority.

This story is not just mine. It reflects the struggle of countless other residents experiencing similar frustrations. We have a shared responsibility to ensure that our community is just and fair for all its members. By signing this petition, you are supporting the call for a more equitable parking scheme that favours the rights and comforts of residents in Coventry's Zone WG. Join us in urging the Coventry City Council to open a consultation and reconsider the current parking scheme.
