Coventry City Council’s Public Health Department will be developing the School Nursing Service in Coventry from next year.

We aim for School Nurses to be easily accessible to all school aged children and young people throughout the whole year. In addition our aim is for School Nurses to prevent people from getting ill and to improve everyone’s health. We aim for them to focus on what are the most important health issues for each school or group of young people.

The Department of Health has a very clear idea of the future of School Nursing; School Nurses should be available to all school aged children and young people, all year round, and they should be easy to contact. They should focus on what are the most important health issues for each school or group of young people.

In Coventry, we want to work with children, parents, staff and anyone else with an interest, to make sure that we develop the best School Nursing Service that we can in Coventry.

Therefore, we have designed a set of surveys for you to complete so that we can understand things like:

·  How you and your child would like to make contact with the School Nursing Service

·  What information, advice and support would help you and your child

·  What you think is important about a School Nursing Service

Tell us what you think

·  If you are the parent/ carer of a child that attends a primary school in Coventry, please complete this survey

·  If you are the parent/ carer of a child that attends a secondary school in Coventry, please complete this survey

·  If you are a pupil of a secondary school in Coventry, please complete this survey

·  If you are a stakeholder, please complete this survey

(Please take part in all surveys that are relevant to you)

The data you provide in these surveys will help us to make sure that the School Nursing Service is as good as it can be in Coventry. All information you provide will remain confidential.

Please note that this consultation ends on the 14th July 2014.

We will be consulting formally in October about exactly how the School Nursing Service will work in the future, and we will use the data provided in these surveys to help shape the formal consultation later in the year.
