Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Fee Review 2022 - Taxi Licensing Mini Review PDF 338 KB Director of Streetscene & Regulatory Services
Minutes: The Cabinet Member for City Services considered a report of the Director of Transportation and Highways regarding a Taxi Licensing Mini Review of the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Fee Review 2022.
On 12th January 2022, a fee review was undertaken to address the charges made for the processing and issuing of licences to drivers and operators to reflect the changes and associated costs.
This review had resulted in an increase of Driver, Vehicle and Operator fees to reflect the reduction in administrative staff and the new role to provide support across the service.
A further review of fees had then been undertaken to reflect staffing, the number of licences issues and current costs. The taxi trade on 23rd August 2022 had a substantial increase in the maximum amount of taxi fares that they can charge the public which would offset the proposed increases in fees.
RESOLVED that the Cabinet Member for City Services having considered the report:
1. Approves the proposed fee changes as detailed in Appendix A. 2. Authorises the Director of Streetscene & Regulatory Services to make the necessary arrangements to advertise the applicable proposed fee variations. 3. Notes that if any formal objections are received in response to the statutory notice, that a further report would be presented on 8th February 2023.

Designating Cycle Route - Charter Avenue PDF 604 KB Report of the Director of Transportation and Highways Minutes: The Cabinet Member for City Services considered a report of the Director of Transportation and Highways regarding designating a cycle route at Charter Avenue.
In order to improve access to the University of Warwick, a cycle lane had been created on Charter Avenue between Cannon Hill Road and Sir Henry Parkes Road through the Government’s Emergency Travel Fund programme. Works to install segregation kerbs along the cycle route would start in January 2023.
Approval was sought to officially designate the cycle route a ‘cycle track’ utilising the Council’s powers under the Highways Act 1980. This cycle track would become part of the National Cycle Network.
RESOLVED that the Cabinet Member for City Services having considered the report:
1. Approves the creation of the cycle track shown in figures 1, 2 and 3. 2. Notes the advertising of a Traffic Regulation Order to revoke the existing Cycle Lane. |
