Electric Vehicles Presentation by the Director of Transportation and Highways Minutes: The Scrutiny Board considered a presentation of the Director of Transportation and Highways regarding Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure.
The presentation provided the following information: · Background - funded projects · Charging locations · Current position – new contract Chargepoint Services · Data · Electric taxis and charge points · Electric vehicles in Coventry and Charging provision · Other Cities · Future planning · Strategy
The Board discussed the following with the Cabinet Member for Jobs and Regeneration and officers: · The need to understand the announcement of the Secretary of State released that morning concerning new government proposals · Charging locations / maps · Hot spots and hubs · Charging for onstreet parking/charging · Battery technology · Partners · Taxis · Wireless charging · Buses · Using places in communities/ petrol stations at supermarkets to charge vehicles as an income generator · Power generation · Health and safety considerations including no sound emitted from electric vehicles and trailing charging cables for on street charging · Anti- social behaviour as onstreet charging/ parking becomes necessary · Communication and promotion of the City · Visit to Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) · Sub – Committee for the Electric Vehicle Select Committee
RESOLVED that the Board appoint the following members to an Electric Vehicle Select Committee Advisory Group: Councillor McNicholas (Chair) Councillor Crookes Councillor Lancaster |

Select Committee - Public Transport PDF 45 KB Briefing Note of the Scrutiny Co-ordinator Additional documents: Minutes: Further to minute 48/16 the Scrutiny Board considered a briefing note and report of the Scrutiny Co-ordinator regarding recommendations from the Business, Economy and Enterprise Scrutiny Board’s Select Committee on Public Transport. The recommendations had been considered by the Business, Economy and Enterprise Board on 22nd March, 2017 and Scrutiny Co-ordination Committee on 12th April, 2017. The report and recommendations were due to be considered by Cabinet on 29th August, 2017.
The Board discussed learning for the next Select Committee including improving communication with the public and also feedback from companies involved in the Committee.
RESOLVED that the outcomes of the Select Committee including responses from companies be reported back to the Board. |

Work Programme 2017/2018 PDF 57 KB Report of the Scrutiny Co-ordinator Minutes: The Board considered the Work Programme and requested more information about the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and HS2.
Members noted that the City of Culture Bid would be considered by the Communities and Neighbourhoods Scrutiny Board 4.
RESOLVED that further information on LEP and HS2 be provided. |
