Report of the Head of Planning and Regulation.

The Committee considered a report of the Head of Planning and Regulation detailing the above application for the erection of two-storey rear extensions and loft conversion to create 8 additional HMO rooms, which was recommended for approval.

Councillor G Duggins, a Longford Ward Councillor, attended the meeting and spoke in respect of his objections. The applicant’s representative spoke in support of the applicant.

During discussion, the Committee expressed concerns in respect of the number of additional rooms, the size of rooms and inadequate lighting in the roof space. 

RESOLVED that application FUL/2019/1781 be refused as it would result in over-development of the land and building.

(Note: Councillor A Andrews did not participate or vote in the above application as he was not in attendance for the presentation).

The Committee noted a report of the Head of Planning and Regulation which provided information on appeals lodged and determined in the period 1 July to 31 August 2019.  The report set out the main issues of the appeals and summarised the decisions, together with details of any costs which were made and/or awarded, either for or against the Council.
