The minutes of the Committee meetings held on 7 and 21 July 2020 were agreed as true records.

RESOLVED that, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting for the items of business indicated below on the grounds that those items involve the likely disclosure of exempt information, as defined in Schedule 12A of that Act, in particular those paragraphs of Part 1 of the Schedule as indicated:

There were no outstanding issues.

There were no other items of public business.

RESOLVED that, having considered a report of the Director of Street Scene and Regulatory Services:

1.  The Council Solicitor be authorised to institute legal proceedings under the Road Traffic Act 1988, the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, the General Product Safety Regulations 2005, the Fraud Act 2006 and the Companies Act 2006 against appropriate persons in respect of the alleged supply of two unroadworthy motor vehicles to two separate customers.

2.  That authority be delegated to the Director of Street Scene and Regulatory Services to authorise legal proceedings for any further offences which may come to light before the case under consideration has been resolved in court.

RESOLVED that, having considered the circumstances set out in the report of the Director of Street Scene and Regulatory Services now submitted, the Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence be revoked with immediate effect.
