The minutes of the Committee meeting held on 12 December 2017 were signed as a true record.

 

The minutes of the Sub-Committee (Hearing) held on 26 October 2017 were signed as a true record, subject to an amendment to Condition 6 agreed with Environmental Protection. The Condition to now read:

 

“6) A preferred and regular taxi firm’s telephone number shall be advertised at that said main entrance and their drivers shall be instructed to arrive and leave as quietly as possible”.

Cockroach Infestation at Restaurant

Minutes:

RESOLVED that, having considered a report of the Deputy Chief Executive (Place), the Council Solicitor be authorised to institute legal proceedings under (EC) No 852/2004 on the Hygiene of Foodstuffs and associated regulations against appropriate persons in respect of the alleged cockroach infestation at Tamil’s Taste of Asia Ltd, 320 Foleshill Road, Coventry.

 

In addition, it was agreed to delegate powers to the Director of Streetscene and Regulatory Services to authorise legal proceedings for any further offences which may come to light before the case under consideration has been resolved in court.

Rodent Infestation at Food Warehouse

Minutes:

RESOLVED that, having considered a report of the Deputy Chief Executive (Place), the Council Solicitor be authorised to institute legal proceedings under the (EC) No 852/2004 on the Hygiene of Foodstuffs and associated regulations for the alleged rodent infestation at Malpol Food, Unit 4 Marshbrook Close, Coventry.

 

In addition, it was agreed to delegate powers to the Director of Streetscene and Regulatory Services to authorise legal proceedings for any further offences which may come to light before the case under consideration has been resolved in court.

Applications for the Grant/Suitability to hold Hackney Carriage & Private Hire Drivers' Licences

RESOLVED that, having considered the circumstances set out in the reports of the Deputy Chief Executive (Place) now submitted:

 

(a)  The Hackney Carriage driver’s licence held by Mr Suresh Denny be suspended for a period of four weeks and that he attend a training course specific to wheelchair carriage, to be organised by the Taxi Licensing department within the period of suspension. 

 

On an advisory basis, the Committee recommended that the respondent provide the Complainant with a formal apology.

 

(Notes: i. Mr S Denny and his representative attended the meeting in support of his case.

ii. The Complainant also attended the meeting in support of her complaint.)

 

(b)  The application for the grant of a Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence by Mr Mohammed Hanif be approved.

 

(Note: Mr M Hanif attended the meeting in support of his application.)
