(a)  The Chair welcomed Councillor Sawdon to his first meeting of the Committee.

 

(b)  The Chair, on behalf of the Committee, thanked Councillor Andrews for his valuable contribution and hard work for the Committee over the years.

Illegal DVDs

Minutes:

RESOLVED that, having considered a report of the Executive Director of Place, the Council Solicitor be authorised to institute legal proceedings under the Trade Marks Act 1994 and the Video Recordings Act 1984 against appropriate persons in respect of the alleged illegal DVDs found at Deans Video, 6 Wheelwright Lane, Coventry.

 

In addition, it was agreed to delegate powers to the Assistant Director for Streetscene and Regulatory Services to authorise legal proceedings for any further offences which may come to light before the case under consideration has been resolved in court.

Illegal Cosmetic Products

Minutes:

RESOLVED that, having considered a report of the Executive Director of Place, the Council Solicitor be authorised to institute legal proceedings under Regulation 12(1) of the Cosmetic Products Enforcement Regulations 2013 and Regulation 20 of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005 against appropriate persons in respect of the alleged illegal cosmetic products found at Barcode, 21b The Burgess, Coventry.

 

In addition, it was agreed to delegate powers to the Assistant Director for Streetscene and Regulatory Services to authorise legal proceedings for any further offences which may come to light before the case under consideration has been resolved in court.

Meat Substitution in Takeaway Curry

Minutes:

RESOLVED that, having considered a report of the Executive Director of Place, the Council Solicitor be authorised to institute legal proceedings under the food Safety Act 1990 and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations (CPUTR) 2008 against appropriate persons in respect of the alleged meat substitution in a takeaway curry at New Bengal Spice, 49 Corporation Street, Coventry.

 

In addition, it was agreed to delegate powers to the Assistant Director for Streetscene and Regulatory Services to authorise legal proceedings for any further offences which may come to light before the case under consideration has been resolved in court.

 

49.

Non-compliance with Section 61(1) of the Housing Act 2004

Minutes:

RESOLVED that, having considered a report of the Executive Director of Place, the Council Solicitor be authorised to institute legal proceedings under the Housing Act 2004 against appropriate persons in respect of the alleged non-compliance with Section 61(1) of the Housing Act 2004 by the owner of 133 Terry Road, Coventry.

 

In addition, it was agreed to delegate powers to the Assistant Director for Streetscene and Regulatory Services to authorise legal proceedings for any further offences which may come to light before the case under consideration has been resolved in court.

Non-compliance with Improvement Notice - Section 11 & 12 of the Housing Act 2004

Minutes:

RESOLVED that, having considered a report of the Executive Director of Place, the Council Solicitor be authorised to institute legal proceedings under the Housing Act 2004 against appropriate persons in respect of the alleged non-compliance with Section 11 and 12 of the Housing Act 2004 by the owner of 226 Swan Lane, Coventry.

 

In addition, it was agreed to delegate powers to the Assistant Director for Streetscene and Regulatory Services to authorise legal proceedings for any further offences which may come to light before the case under consideration has been resolved in court.

Non-compliance with Management of Houses in Multiple Occupation (England) Regulations 2006 (21078)

Minutes:

RESOLVED that, having considered a report of the Executive Director of Place, the Council Solicitor be authorised to institute legal proceedings under the Housing Act 2004 against appropriate persons in respect of the alleged non-compliance with the Management of Houses in Multiple Occupation (England) Regulations 2006 by the owner of 12-14 Lower Ford Street, Coventry.

 

In addition, it was agreed to delegate powers to the Assistant Director for Streetscene and Regulatory Services to authorise legal proceedings for any further offences which may come to light before the case under consideration has been resolved in court.

Non-compliance with Management of Houses in Multiple Occupation (England) Regulations 2006 (28135 & 11819)

Minutes:

RESOLVED that, having considered a report of the Executive Director of Place, the Council Solicitor be authorised to institute legal proceedings under the Housing Act 2004 against appropriate persons in respect of the alleged non-compliance with the Management of Houses in Multiple Occupation (England) Regulations 2006 by the owner of 25 Coundon Road, Coventry.

 

In addition, it was agreed to delegate powers to the Assistant Director for Streetscene and Regulatory Services to authorise legal proceedings for any further offences which may come to light before the case under consideration has been resolved in court.
