RESOLVED that, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting for the items of business indicated below, on the grounds that those items involve the likely disclosure of exempt information and that there would be no public interest in disclosing that information, as defined in Schedule 12A of that Act, in particular those paragraphs of Part 1 of the Schedule as indicated:

Non-compliance with a Formal Notice under the Prevention of Damage by Pests Act 1949 (No 8)

Minutes:

RESOLVED that, having considered a report of the Executive Director of Place, the Council Solicitor be authorised to institute legal proceedings under the Prevention of Damage by Pests Act 1949 against appropriate persons in respect of the alleged non-compliance with a Formal Notice served under the above Act on the owner of 168 Queen Mary’s Road, Coventry.

 

In addition it was agreed to delegate powers to the Assistant Director (Streetscene and Greenspace) to authorise legal proceedings for any further offences which may come to light before the case under consideration has been resolved in court.

Minutes:

RESOLVED that, having considered a report of the Executive Director of Place, the Council Solicitor be authorised to institute legal proceedings under the Prevention of Damage by Pests Act 1949 against appropriate persons in respect of the alleged non-compliance with a Formal Notice served under the above Act on the owner of 25 Coundon Road, Coventry.

 

In addition it was agreed to delegate powers to the Assistant Director (Streetscene and Greenspace) to authorise legal proceedings for any further offences which may come to light before the case under consideration has been resolved in court.

Minutes:

RESOLVED that, having considered a report of the Executive Director of Place, the Council Solicitor be authorised to institute legal proceedings under the Prevention of Damage by Pests Act 1949 against appropriate persons in respect of the alleged non-compliance with a Formal Notice served under the above Act on the owner of 11a Chester Street, Coventry.

 

In addition it was agreed to delegate powers to the Assistant Director (Streetscene and Greenspace) to authorise legal proceedings for any further offences which may come to light before the case under consideration has been resolved in court.

Minutes:

RESOLVED that, having considered a report of the Executive Director of Place, the Council Solicitor be authorised to institute legal proceedings under the Prevention of Damage by Pests Act 1949 against appropriate persons in respect of the alleged non-compliance with a Formal Notice served under the above Act on the owner of 1 Bridgeman Road, Coventry.

 

In addition it was agreed to delegate powers to the Assistant Director (Streetscene and Greenspace) to authorise legal proceedings for any further offences which may come to light before the case under consideration has been resolved in court.

Applications for the Grant/Suitability to hold Hackney Carriage & Private Hire Drivers' Licences

Minutes:

RESOLVED that having considered the circumstances set out in the reports of the Executive Director of Place now submitted:

 

(a)  The application for grant of a Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence by Mr Maaz Mubarakali Monia be approved.

 

(Note: Mr M M Monia and his representative attended the meeting in support of his application.)

 

(b)  The application for grant of a Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence Mr Mohammed Surfraz be approved subject to the following:

 

(i)  That in the initial granting of a 3 year licence, Mr Surfraz be requested to undertake an annual interview with a Taxi Licensing Officer.

 

(ii) Mr Surfraz undertaking at Committee on 19 January 2016 to

   immediately notify the Council’s Taxi Licence Office if, over

  the period of the initial 3 year licence, he is charged by the  

   Police with any offence.

 

(Note: Mr M Surfraz attended the meeting in support of his application.)

 

(j)  The application for grant of a Private Hire Driver’s Licence by Mr Ambroise Tchantchou be approved subject to a four month suspension.

 

(Note: Mr A Tchantchou attended the meeting in support of his application.)
