RESOLVED that Councillor Lucas be elected as Chair of the meeting.

There were no declarations of interest.

To consider whether, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, to exclude the press and public for the item of private business on the grounds that that item involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Schedule 12A of that Act, in particular paragraph 1 of Part 1 of that Schedule.

RESOLVED that, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended, the public be excluded from the meeting for the item of business contained in Minute 5 below relating to “Appointment of Director of Children’s Services” on the grounds that that item involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Schedule 12 A of that Act, in particular paragraph 1 of Part 1 of that Schedule and that in all circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

There were no other items of urgent public business.
