Proposed limited waiting scheme – Charter Avenue Industrial Estate

Purpose of the consultation

Proposed limited waiting scheme – Charter Avenue Industrial Estate

We are planning to install a ‘Limited Waiting’ scheme on Charter Avenue Industrial Estate.  This follows concerns raised by local people about commuters using Tile Hill station parking all day on street.

We are proposing to introduce the following limited waiting time: Limited Waiting – 8am to 6pm, 2 hours no return within 4 hours on Curriers Close and Falkland Close.

Charter Av.1

A limited waiting scheme will allow a turnover of spaces for business customers and it will complement the wider resident parking scheme we hope to introduce in the wider area.

If there is support for a limited waiting scheme we would like to sign this by using two  gateway signs that would say ‘Limited waiting past this point’ at the start of Curriers Close. This signage needs Department for Transport approval – and this can take up to 12-16 weeks to secure. If you support the scheme and we don’t get approval for the entry signs – we will use smaller signs at 30 metre intervals.

We would like to know if you want a limited waiting scheme introduced and if so, what your preferred days of operation would be. Please tell us by completing the form attached by 29 April 2016.

If there is support for the idea a legal process is required to introduce this scheme. The process includes advertising the Traffic Regulation Order and an objection period of 21 days.
