Poor Food Hygiene Conditions at a Coventry Restaurant

Minutes:

RESOLVED that, having considered a report of the Deputy Chief Executive (Place), the Council Solicitor be authorised to institute legal proceedings under (EC) No 852/2004 on the Hygiene of Foodstuffs and associated regulations against the appropriate person in respect of the alleged poor food hygiene conditions found at Nicely, 29 Smithford Way, Coventry.

 

In addition, it was agreed to delegate powers to the Director of Streetscene and Regulatory Services to authorise legal proceedings for any further offences which may come to light before the case under consideration has been resolved in court.

Applications for the Grant/Suitability to hold Hackney Carriage & Private Hire Drivers' Licences

Minutes:

RESOLVED that, having considered the circumstances set out in the reports of the Deputy Chief Executive (Place), now submitted:

 

(a)  The review of the Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence held by Mr Major Singh be deferred to a future meeting to allow him more time to arrange legal representation.

 

(b)  The review of the Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence held by Mr Purvez Iqbal be deferred to a future meeting.

 

(c)  The application for the grant of a Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence by Mr Tesfagabr Abraham Tesfaslasie be approved.

 

(Note: Mr T A Tesfaslasie and his friend attended the meeting in support of his application.)

 

(d)  The review of the Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence held by Mohammed Akbar Sandoo was no longer required as Mr Sandoo had handed his badge in and informed the Taxi Licensing Office that he had retired.

 

(e)  The review of the Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence held by Mr Chamkaur Singh Sandhu be deferred to a future meeting.
